2018 has been a monumental year in the auto industry with manufacturers rolling out the coolest models with the latest technologies and amenities. These innovative models showcase both speed and luxury and while some are long-anticipated, others may surprise you. Below are some of the hottest cars this year and what makes them so cool.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
This Challenger generates the highest g-force launch ever recorded in a stock model and can go to 60 miles per hour in less than 3 seconds. It has a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 that channels up to 840 horsepower, the highest horsepower of any production car.
Ferrari 812 Superfast
Ferrari exists at the peak of speed and luxury. This time they have outperformed themselves with the Ferrari 812 Superfast. The fastest Ferrari yet, it also has electric power steering for breakneck agility. The 812 is sleek and sexy, never compromising function for design.
Tesla Model 3
The one everyone’s been waiting for. The smaller and less expensive alternative to the Model S, the Model 3 reaches a wider audience and is designed to attain the highest safety ratings in every category while maintaining a super efficient 310 miles of range per charge. What’s more, the Model 3 will also offer the Auto-Pilot system that allows semi-autonomous driving. The Model 3 is anticipated to completely change the game for electric and luxury cars.
Kia Stinger
An upcoming challenger in the realm of upscale sedans, Kia’s new Stinger is a sporty new addition with four-door coupe style and a comfortable ride. The Stinger also features 8-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters, 255-365 horsepower range, and the GT includes Brembo brakes and optional all-wheel drive. The 2018 Kia Stinger ranked number one in luxury small cars, an impressive feat for a new model, and has ample passenger seating and storage space.
Automotive Sealants
The reason we're talking about this: using an RTV Silicone gasket maker when conducting car repair can save you a ton of time and money by eliminating leak paths, resisting temperature cycles, and standing up to the stress of the natural vibrations of a vehicle. Silicone gasket makers can be used anywhere a gasket is needed (i.e. rear differential gasket, water pump gasket, oil pan gasket etc.), but if you are using it on a component that is going to get hot, it is important to use a silicone sealant that can stand up to the heat. Otherwise, a 100 RTV% silicone sealant will work perfectly.
