Homemade Snow Globes
Snow globes can be very expensive, but they can easily be made inexpensively by doing them at home. All one needs is a mason jar, glue gun, clear glue, warm water, a spoon, glitter, and a tree ornament that will fit in the jar.
This craft can take any ornament and place it into its own beautiful winter scene. This is a great opportunity to be creative with your ornament selection. You can choose a simple Christmas tree ornament or place one depicting a particular character and place them in the jar to give them a mystical appearance.

This is a simple project that only requires paint, painter's tape for the glass or plastic protecting the photo, and any additional decor pieces one may want to add for flair. Some of those additional pieces could be tiny versions of some crafts we will soon be discussing.
If you want to add some texture to the frame, add some silicone sealant for a unique touch that will add a 3D effect.

Paper (Plate) Snowflakes
This one is a classic: paper snowflakes. Cutting into sheets of folded paper to produce a beautifully designed snowflake that can be as large or small as desired. It is simple yet effective because of just how many options there are to design a paper snowflake.
A twist on this particular craft is to use styrofoam or paper plates, glue, and yarn to design the snowflake. This gives the snowflake a solid base to lay on and can last a bit longer as paper can easily rip or be damaged.
This also allows for different techniques within the application, and both versions can be strung together to create a hanging line of different snowflake designs.
Paper plate crafts that are similar to this are snowman faces on paper plates, by using other materials to design the face of a snowman or other type of character. These can include Santa Claus, a reindeer, a polar bear, and more.
Toilet Roll Figures
Another snowman craft is creating a snowman out of a toilet paper roll. Toilet paper rolls or cut paper towel rolls act as the base of the figure. The figure can be then painted and decorated with different materials.
For example, a snowman figure can be made by painting the rolling white and then using small beads for eyes and buttons, cotton balls for ear muffs, felt for a scarf, and other materials to decorate them.
It is also easy to create arctic animals like penguins and polar bears with this particular craft.
If you want to create a little scene piece for these figures to interact, it can also be part of the craft. Grab something like a shoebox that will act as the base for the figures to stand on. Then, grab some felt or web-like material to set as the floor. This can act as snow in a winter-type scene.
Then decorate your scene to tell a fun story with your figures.
The top border can also be decorated with fake icicles with some aluminum foil, flexible wire, and glitter. Do this by tearing a piece of aluminum foil a few centimeters longer than you desire your icicles’ length to be. Then tear off the lower corners so that they are blunt triangles. This will help your icicle craft taper.
Then, fold the shiny side down over the top few centimeters of the flat edge. Cut a section of flex wire, tie it into a loop and glue it onto one end of the folded aluminum foil so it sticks out the top. You can also use silicone sealant to adhere it and add additional texture effects to the sides and tip of your icicle.
Apply some glue to the outside of your icicle to add some blue or white glitter to give it some shine.
